Royal Perth Hospital’s Victoria’s Cafe has finally been given the recognition it deserves for its world famous hot chips.
In an Australia first, the cafe was awarded 3 Michelin Stars, which has caused quite a stir given the rating system not being adopted by Australia yet.
We spoke to a source close to Michelin who said the experience was life changing, adding,
“A judge had been visiting Perth and injured himself enjoying the City’s favourite pastime of driving a Hilux through a living room wall, after he was discharged he wandered past the cafe and given the 12 hour wait was a little peckish”
He spotted an overworked nurse locked into a culinary affair with a tray of fried potatoes with an enticing brown slurry of goodness. He knew he had to have it.
After his first bite the man exclaimed, “Je suis au paradis” and he was so excited he forgot about his dislocated shoulder, flailing his arms around like French people do, much to his detriment.
While in severe pain, he tried a chip with the gravy and that’s when the magic happened. Our source continued,
“He got on the phone to his bosses immediately and said they were getting 3 Michelin Stars and told them that he’d made a mess of his pants in all the excitement”
