The Sydney Swans have admitted that they have given out complimentary ring lights with tickets to Friday’s game against Flagmantle due to the unique needs of their fanbase.
Ring lights are typically used by influencers to get the perfect lighting for their content. Which for many Swans “fans” is the number 1 reason for attending a game.
We spoke to a source close to Sydney who said it was about understanding their base, adding,
“Why pretend our fans aren’t coming to the game to take selfies and record reels and TikToks? We’d be deluding ourselves so we may as well help them out and reap the free advertising”
Not everyone is happy with the Swans fans getting the ring lights. Mainly the old, weathered South Melbourne contingent who were into footy before it became a social outing in Sydney.
Earl, a former South Melbourne resident and lifetime blood said that if some coconut-buttered-fair weather fuck got in the way of his viewing he’d snap that ring light and stick it up his own ring to prove a point.
Good stuff Earl.
