West Coast NFL powerhouses the LA Rams and the San Fransico 49ers will be treated to the full VFL experience in their unprecedented match at the MCG tomorrow night.
They, like Australian Western teams, basically travel further for one game than Collinwood do for an entire season. How precious is that!
The flight from LA to Melbourne is roughly 12,800km and Collingwood have travelled roughly to Marvel Stadium and back. Quite the difference.
We spoke to a source close to the LA Rams who said they were honoured to bond with Australia’s West Coast over it, adding,
“Yeah wow we feel like true Aussies now, who’d have thought just one little trip pretty much amounted to all the travel done by Collingwood, certainly by that basketballer Scott Pendlebury who probably hasn’t travelled further than we did to the airport”
Of course, the DELUXE Victorian Footy experience in the form of vic bias will not be afforded to either team given both are from the West.
Some within the footy community say they were missing out and perhaps BT could commentate the game and sound bored AF and get names wrong because the players aren’t Victorian.
Only time will tell if Melbourne grants this wish.
