Albo has pledged a considerable $1B towards Westralia’s Westport project which in part involves a substantial upgrade to the Kwinana Freeway.
The WA Government has thanked the PM and confirmed that the funding has ensured another 10 years of roadworks on the Freeway much to the public’s delight.
We spoke to a source from within the Government who said delivering key infrastructure headaches was an important part of governing WA. Adding,
“Are there two sweeter words than Freeway Upgrade? It’s a magic time in a motorist’s life where he gets to spend some quality me-time as he navigates a never-ending stretch of traffic cones, workers doing sweet FA and of course those charming electronic signs letting them know they may never get home again”
While the current estimate for the Kwinana Freeway upgrades is a decade it could well blow out to 20 years or if you’re really lucky “indefinite”.
People in Kwinana have already said their farewells to anyone living North of Anketell Road as it could be a while between drinks before that Freeway runs smoothly again.
