Tensions continue to escalate in the City of Rockingham over the ongoing issue with fortnightly red bin collections.
The situation in Rocko is different depending on who you talk to. The local Council believes it’s a loud minority while some online commentators say the very streets of Rocko run brown with the overflow of soiled nappies.
While some communities adapted to the FOGO over time, the issue is causing such animosity amongst some residents that analysts fear the conditions are ripe for the formation of a micronation.
An expert in separatist movements has been monitoring the situation and told The Times,
“You never quite know what issue will get so heated it might melt the glue that holds society but in Rocko it appears to be red bins. You have to understand this is a community who traditionally don’t like being told what to do and with the help of credit their religion is senseless consumerism which creates a lot of rubbish”
We spoke to an anti-FOGO campaigner who said he spent much of his day staring at his maggoty bin and doodling his grand vision for the People’s Republic of Weekly Red Bin Collections. He told us,
“I’ve begun writing my own Constitution for the new Republic. It will be a micronation built on the right to produce as much household waste as you like. I also want the old Rockingham Hotel to come back so that’s in there too”
To that end, every citizen of the new Republic of Rockingham will get 10 red bins to be collected twice daily.
Experts will continue to monitor the situation closely.
