Freo hospo workers authorised to use Wharfie Time to get through Saturday’s grand final party

For the first time ever, Wharfie time will be used outside of its usual Perth Stadium big screen to help the hundreds of Freo hospo workers get through a gruelling Saturday shift.

Just imagine it, after an 8 hour shift you’re about to knock off but get another order for 10 eXpresso martinis.

You don’t think you can go on. Then you hear the bells and your entire venue starts cheering you on. You can do it!!!

We spoke to a source close to Freo who said “Wharfie Time” is all about finding something in yourself that you didn’t know you had, adding,

“What a perfect use for it. Whenever it gets busy people’s bar etiquette just goes out the window, it can be a very testing time for a bartender or waiter, so hopefully the fabled Hells Bells can help them get through to close and enjoy many a knock off”

We spoke to a young bartender who said she will probably need to activate Wharfie Time several times throughout a shift, adding,

“I can just see it. The bar 40 people deep and some tool approaches who has failed to use their 20 minute wait to think about what they want and start asking me what wine they think their wife would like, WHARFIE TOOIMMME”

Good luck to all you brave souls.
