Government sweetens incentives to lure tradies to WA by promising $10K, an ’08 Ranger and full control of site radio

In an effort to lure more qualified tradesman from over East and other countries, the WA State Government has announced that on top of the $10k bonus they’ll also be promised full control over the site radio and a 08 Ford Ranger valued at $50,000 if you’ve smoked enough.

Naturally, what is played on the site radio can be a major cause of conflict for tradies so getting unfettered power to decide what to play is a real sweetener.

We spoke to a Kiwi thinking of making the move over who said he couldn’t wait introduce everyone to the magic of Joe Rogan podcasts. Adding,

“I don’t want to listen to the same Foo Fighters songs all day. I want to hear Joe give half baked opinions on things he’s watched a 2 minute YouTube video on. That’s my idea of a good time”

Another tradie from Melbourne who is more than a little keen on a weekend face chew said any site he worked on will get extra motivated by his signature blend of DnB, electro and anything else that is going to get him gee’d up for his upcoming holiday to Ibizia.

Of course, the Government has to consider what will happen if two or more of these blow-in tradies are on the same site.

A roster system may be in place or ideally one will be moved to another site.
