Kmart unveils radical plan to place checkouts where customers expect them

Kmart has announced it is rolling out a “game changing” retail “phenomenon” across more stores in the coming months.

Instead of placing checkouts in the middle of the store and creating a nice frosty tension between customer and receipt checker, the retail giant will be placing the checkouts at the front of the store.

Some within the shopping community think it’s a step too far while others think it’s crazy enough to work. With one keen consumer telling The Times,

“Fostering trust and good vibes between consumer and retailer seems suss to me, I prefer to do my shopping feeling like I’m leaving a local prison, check me daddy!”

Another shopper said while it was a brave new world it could just work, adding,

“Paying for your goods as your last act before leaving? I like it. Now maybe they could program the secuirty gates not to off randomly to keep us on our toes, I feel like they’re about to open fire on me”

Many stores across the Perth metro are earmarked for the radical change and some have even switched over.

Madness really.
