McDonald’s Emerges As Shock Favourite For Irwin Barracks Redevelopment In City of Nedlands

It’s looking more and more likely that the City of Nedlands will get a Maccas after it was revealed key stakeholders were being won over by the proposal.

Motivated in part to give shift workers an optional late night treat and in part to just piss off Nedlands, the proposal is gaining steam.

We spoke to an insider who said it would be one hell of a Maccas, taking up the entire 62 hectare site,

“Just imagine it, a Maccas behemoth with 50 drive-throughs and a playground you can see from space, those poshos will hear those squealing kids through their double-glazed windows ha ha”

Naturally, many in the community question why the location wouldn’t be turned into housing. However, with the prospect of just more housing for richkents, it would be funnier to do something for the culture.

One town planning expert told The Times,

“More housing is needed but giving City of Nedlands and their snobby fast food policy the shits is also pretty funny, I’m not a big fan of Maccas but it isn’t in my backyard so I don’t care”

The proposal is likely going to generate some anger within the City of Nedlands community.
