Mandurah residents demand data centres after learning of all that sweet, sweet copper

All over the world, Governments of all levels are grappling with the brave new world of data centre proliferation.

These unsightly and thirsty cathedrals of cables have been met with significant community backlash but WA’s own Mandurah is bucking the trend.

In fact, a large portion of residents have begun lobbying their local council to hurry up and approve as many data centres as possible so that they can get at those sweet, sweet copper cables.

We spoke to a copper enthusiast who said he couldn’t wait, adding,

“We get this tech billionaires to build these things, we swipe the copper, they claim insurance, and it all repeats, a victimless crooooiiimeee”

Naturally, data centre experts say they will build these things with impenetrable security however to a Mandurahian hungry for some copper, no measures will be enough. With another security expert telling The Times,

“I’ve seen a bloke scale a 50 foot wall with just his bare hands, he also appeared to have developed some kind of resistance to electricity because he just store those cables out again with his bare hands”

Well it’s going to be an all you can strip buffet no doubt.
