The RBA has raised the official cash rate by 25 basis points to 4.60% in line with expectations today.
Naturally, the news came as a blow to all the mortgage holders who will now brace for more financial stress as a result.
In their usual helpful fashion, the RBA sympathised with the mortgage holders but told them if they didn’t want so many rate rises they should stop bloody blocking up the Strait of Hormuz.
A source close to the RBA told The Times,
“It’s pretty ordinary isn’t it, all these mortgage holders instigating global conflicting and buggering up the supply chain with their shenanigans in the Strait of Hormuz, they bring it upon themselves!”
The RBA has gone further and said that rather than spending all their resource blocking the Strait, they could be helping the economy by perhaps collecting all their bodily waste for the week and taking it to their local farming region as free fertiliser.
Our source added,
“They are quick to whinge, but the fertiliser situation is a biggie when it comes to driving up the cost of food so yeah, why aren’t they doing these easy, small things to help slow down inflation?”
Very good point.
