Claremont boy’s folks refusing to buy him a second property until he secures a “self made tycoon” interview with the media

Negotiations for a Claremont boy’s second property have hit a major hurdle after his parents refused to sign off on the deal until he’s secured an interview with the media about being a self-made property tycoon.

We spoke to the boy’s folks who have already bought him a $2.5M apartment within the triangle. They said their generosity had its limits, adding,

“What lesson are we teaching our boy if we just give him things without having to work for them? If he really wants this $2M investment property then he’ll go and get an interview to demonstrate the strength of our family name!”

Naturally, the “gifts” aren’t totally selfless. Many are speculating it is “more than convenient” for the family to disperse assets for tax purposes. Nevertheless, they aren’t budging until young Tom does his bit.

We tracked down Tom who slumped on his couch. Barely able to finish his 18-year-old Lagavulin. He told The Times,

“Having a $4.5M property portfolio by 25 isn’t enough for the news these days. They have had so many rich arseholes approach them for personal PR that the benchmark is much higher. I’ve told my parents that unless they go up at least $1.5M there’s nothing I can do. Life is hard right now”

We spoke to a rage-bait and garbage news expert who told The Times that to sufficiently trigger the public they needed progressively more absurd claims of being self made. Adding,

“2 multi-million dollar properties may have flown about 5 years ago but we’re really wanting 5 properties or more these days. Tom said we could do the photos on his dad’s yacht but he said he couldn’t tell us that the boat was his. Wasting our time!”

The question now remains whether Tom will get his self-made-boss interview. Or whether he’d have to pay for a tabloid personal PR article about his “financial consultancy firm’s vision” for the future or whatever made-up job he has.

On the plus side, he has been able to leverage the offer on the table to his advantage at the Cott Hotel on the weekend. Telling some younger Golden Triangle girls that he’ll have a pad in Nedlands that they could rent off him.

Good luck Tom, this is truly the new face of the tough housing market in Western Australia.
